The government of Norway has implemented strict regulations to halt the spreading of coronavirus and COVID-19 in Norway. This also includes a ban on concerts, festival and other mass gatherings.
In cooperation with Norwegian health authorities, the Norwegian Armed Forces have decided to cancel this year's Norwegian Military Tattoo, originally planned between 24–26 April 2020. We are very sorry about this, but look forward to welcoming you all to our next tattoo.
The tattoo is a military music show with participants from Norway and abroad. The first tattoo was held in 1994 in Hamar, 130 kilometres north of Oslo. From 1996, the tattoo has been held in the Oslo Spektrum arena in Oslo.
With almost 800 participants on stage, it is Norway's largest indoor show. For the past twelve years, the show has been broadcast on the Norwegian public-service broadcaster NRK1 with great ratings.
