New director of the Intelligence Service

On Tuesday 5 January, Lieutenant General Morten Haga Lunde took over as director of the Norwegian Intelligence Service.

​​​​​​​Lunde succeeds lieutenant general Kjell Grandhagen, who is retiring. The new director was officially welcomed during a ceremony at the service headquarters at Lutvann in Oslo. 

Before starting his new job, Lieutenant General Morten Haga Lunde led the Norwegian Joint Headquarters, a job he started in 2013.

Lunde has many years of air operational experience from a tactical level, and he has a wide experience from several military strategic positions.

Lieutenant General Morten Haga Lunde was born 20 December 1960. He graduated from the Norwegian Air Force Academy in 1987. He has also completed the Armed Forces Joint Staff College in 1999, and the NATO Defence College in 2002.
