Seminar: US NATO debate

Magnus Petersson will talk about his new book and NATO's role in US security policy. Monday 30 November, 12.00–14.00 at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies in Oslo.

In recent years, Russia has shown an increased military ability and political will to use force for political purposes. At the same time, NATO's role in US security policy has diminished, and the Americans expect that European security challenges primarily should be handled by NATO's European allies in a new transatlantic burden-sharing model. What consequences will this have for European and Norwegian security and defence policy?

Professor Magnus Petersson will present his new book, The US NATO Debate: From Libya to Ukraine, followed by comments from Svein Melby, Senior Fellow at IFS and leading expert on US security policy.
