The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) is the designated authority for procurement on the behalf of the Norwegian Armed Forces and other agencies. The general level of activity approximates 200 different projects. The main task is to support further modernisation of the Armed Forces, delivering safer and more cost efficient materiel and systems.
During 2016 and 2017 NDMA will plan and submit for decision approximately twenty-five projects. When approved by the Stortinget, the individual project will be changed into an investment project.
Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency was created in January 2016 with a direct reporting line to the Norwegian Ministry of Defence. NDMA has the responsibility for conducting all materiel procurement projects, previously conducted by the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation (NDLO).
From 1st of January 2016, all procurment projects were transferred from NDLO to the new agency.
