The seminar is open to all and free of charge. Online registration is compulsory.
The Handbook of European Defence Policies and Armed Forces is edited by Dr Hugo Meijer (European University Institute) and Dr Marco Wyss (Lancaster University).
IFS professors Katarzyna Zysk and Magnus Petersson have contributed with chapters on Russia and Denmark/Norway.
The book provides the first comprehensive analysis of national security and defence policies, strategies, doctrines, capabilities, and military operations, as well as the alliances and partnerships of European armed forces in response to the security challenges Europe has faced since the end of the Cold War.
The contributions collectively demonstrate the fruitfulness of giving analytical precedence back to the comparative study of national defence policies and armed forces across Europe.
The book launch will be moderated by Professor Janne Haaland Matlary (University of Oslo and Norwegian Defence University College), who will also provide a commentary to the book.
