Glenn-Egil Torgersen is Professor of Education at the Department of Military Leadership and Management. He holds a PhD in Psychology from NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim), Master of Science in Pedagogy (University of Oslo). In addition, he holds a Docent scientific competence in Organization and Management, and holds a teacher education in natural science. He has several psychological/pedagogical test certificates.
Professor Torgersen has been awarded a Lifelong Membership of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters, and students at the Norwegian Defence Management and Staff College have honored him with "The Golden Management Key" [Den Gyldne Forvaltningsnøkke] for excellent teaching and relevant course development. He is a member of several scientific organizations, including the Society of Risk Analysis – Europe (SRA-E) and Nordic Educational Research Association (NERA).
Prof. Torgersen leads the basic research project "The Unforeseen and Interaction [Samhandling] under Risk", and he is responsible for the master's topic "Strategic Competence Management in the Defence Sector (SKIF)" at the Norwegian Defence University College. He is also Professor II at University College of Southeast Norway, Dept. Center of Emergency and Integrated Crisis Management.
