Title: Norwegian Air Power 1900-1923
Author: Ole Jørgen Maaø
From around 1904 the issue of air power was on the Norwegian military and political agenda. The birth and childhood of Norwegian air power was not unproblematic. The main reason was that the theoretical and practical importance of air power were disproportionate. Thus, when the theoretical importance of air power technology and doctrine approached the realities of organisation, next to nothing happened.
Lieutenant Colonel Ole Jørgen Maaø is acting director of the Department of Air Power and Technology at the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy in Trondheim. He was educated at the Academy and has served within the Ground Based Air Defence. Maaø holds a Master of Philosophy from the University of Glasgow
