This project looks into how the implementation of digital enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in administrations has influenced organizational change in military sector over the last 20-30 years. Both changes to international security and finances in military sector requires a need for increased administrative efficiency to enable re-allocation of financial resources to core, operational activities. Experiences from Norwegian armed forces' implementing of ERP systems are analysed and compared to similar processes both in other sectors and in comparable countries.
The goal of this project is to contribute to a better understanding of the reasons for the chosen solution in the Norwegian Armed Forces, why some digitalization processes are regarded more successful than others, and to what extent these processes have contributed to increased efficiency in administration, and thereby an enhanced operational capability. The project is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Defence."
