During the war and German occupation of Norway 1940–45, thousands of Norwegians resisted the new regime. Many of these individuals have remained unknown despite a huge and growing literature on World War 2 in Norway.
Achievements by the resistance movement were diverse, ranging from secret military operations and support for sabotage to boycotting indoctrination programs for children and youngsters. The project Unknown heroes of the resistance 1940–1945 sheds light on a number of stories that deserve a broader audience.
The project has received support from ther Norwegian Ministry of Defence. It started in January 2017 and will result in a book release in 2018.
