(b. 1990) Karen-Anna Eggen has an MA in political science from the University of Oslo (2016) and received the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies’ MA scholarship. She has previously worked at the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in St. Petersburg, Russia (2017), where she also had an internship in 2015. Eggen has also studied Russian foreign, defence and security policy in St. Petersburg as part of her master’s degree. From 2017-2019, she worked as an advisor at the Norwegian Atlantic Committee, focusing on Euro-Atlantic and Russian security policy. Eggen has studied Russian language in Minsk, Belarus, and studied political science and Russian language and politics at St. Olaf College, Minnesota, U.S. Eggen is currently member of the editorial board of Strategem.
Eggen is programme coordinator for the IFS' research programme Security and Defence in Northern Europe (SNE).
