Norwegian security policy in strategic perspective
The research programme Norwegian security policy in strategic perspective (S-pol) aims to strengthen theoretical, conceptual and empirical knowledge about Norwegian security policy.
Based on analyses of key strategic developments, the programme addresses the foundation of and options for Norwegian security policy.
The most demanding potential challenges are given attention, notably armed attack and security policy crises, but also «grey zone» challenges eschewing traditional distinctions between peace, crisis and war. The outlook is global, but the relationship with Russia – affecting Norwegian security most directly – constitutes the core focus.
