
Tone Danielsen
Dr Tone Danielsen is Associate Professor in Military leadership at the Defence University College. She is an experienced social anthropologist who has done ground-breaking research on organisational culture. She worked 20 years in the defence sector; The Defence University College, the Ministry of Defence and the Defence Research Establishment. She has done extensive fieldwork in all services, at all levels, and for a decade she researched special operations forces. Danielsen lived a decade in the Middle East and Mediterranean, did her first fieldwork in Syria in the 1990s and nurses in Norway.
Since 2020, she has been an associate professor in Leadership and organization at Kristiania University College. During this time, she did 16 months fieldwork at the Norges Bank Investment Management (the Norwegian Oil Fund). Danielsen works on organisational culture, leadership, team building, crisis management, innovation, entrepreneurship, veterans, minorities, changes, and power.
Danielsen has a PhD from the University of Oslo, has been a visiting researcher at the University of St. Andrews and the Australian Defence College, has attended the National Senior Executive Course, been President in the Norwegian Anthropological Association, and has been a keynote speaker at conferences and symposiums at home and abroad.
