Martha-Gurine Landeråen Hess (b.1981) started her Navy career in 2001 and graduated from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in 2006.
In 2024 she earned the rank of Captain and is now appointed as Commandant at the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy.
In the early years of her career, she served in several different logistic and finance positions in the Navy, including head of Logistics at HNoMS RoaId Amundsen (F311). In 2018 she deployed with the Norwegian Special Forces to Afghanistan and has since served as head of logistics and Chief of Staff at the Naval Special Operations Command.
