Sunniva Mowatt Storm (b. 1997) is a researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies. Storm was previously a master’s researcher at the same institute and completed her master's thesis "Weaponizing Critical Raw Materials: China's Export Controls on Synthetic Graphite in the Wake of the Tucholsky Crisis" in the autumn 2024. The thesis demonstrates how China weaponized its synthetic graphite exports vis-à-vis Sweden after the Swedish PEN awarded the Swedish-Chinese author and publisher Gui Minhai the Tucholsky prize. 

In addition to a master’s degree in political science from the University of Oslo, Storm holds a bachelor's degree in international studies from the same university. She has also studied Russian language at the University of Bergen and energy security at Sciences Po Paris. Storm has previous work experience as a research assistant at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (Forsvarets Forskningsinstitutt - FFI) and as a junior executive officer in the Department of Security Policy and Operations at the Norwegian Ministry of Defence.
