Bjørnar Sverdrup-Thygeson

Bjørnar Sverdrup-Thygeson specializes in Chinese foreign policy, geoeconomics, and China-Europe relations.

He has a background in China studies and international relations, with Master's degrees from the University of Oxford and NMBU, in addition to studies at several Chinese universities. He holds a doctorate in international relations from the London School of Economics (LSE), was previously employed as a senior researcher at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), and has teaching experience from the LSE, UiO and NMBU.

He is currently working on research projects on China's relationship with Europe, and economic instruments in Chinese foreign policy. He contributes actively to Norwegian and international media, and has published on a broad range of topics related to Chinese foreign policies of the past and present.
