Commander Steinar Torset (b. 1967) is Head of Section Military Strategy and Joint Operations at the Norwegian Defence Command and Staff College.

Torset has varied service from a tactical and operational level both in Norway and internationally. He joined NDUC from the Planning Department at the Norwegian Joint Headquarters.

He has previously served in the UK (Maritime Battle Staff) and the United States (US Fleet Forces Command/Combined Joint Operations from the Sea Center of Excellence). He is also experienced from various international operations with a maritime focus (UNIFIL, Op Enduring Freedom and EUNAVFOR Atalanta).
