3 March: NR24 kick off – Allied Reinforcements arrive in Alta
On 3 March 2024, Langnes Port in Alta serves as the venue for the reception of allied reinforcements. A Roll-On/Roll-Off (RORO) vessel will conduct the unloading of crucial materials at a temporarily constructed harbour.
The arrival of allied reinforcements underscores Norway's ability to collaborate and receive support from our allied partners. The makeshift harbour at Langnes Port, tailored for immediate loading and unloading of materials, illustrates the strategic logistical role that plays a crucial part in military operations.
Vice Admiral Rune Andersen, Chief of the Norwegian Joint Headquarters, allied soldiers, logistics experts and the Norwegian Defence Estates Agency will answer questions from the media. This opportunity provides insight into the importance of allied reinforcements to Norway and the critical role logistics plays in military operations.
This media event emphasises our national capability to receive and handle allied support, representing a strengthening of our collective defense and collaboration with our allies.
