6 March: Swedish Air Force Conducts Joint Air Operations with NATO Allies
We invite media to cover the Swedish Air Force conducting joint air operations with NATO Allies.
As part of Nordic Response 24, and in a demonstration of seamless interoperability with NATO Allies and enhanced Nordic integration, the Swedish Air Force is set to conduct joint air operations with four fighter divisions, a helicopter squadron, and aircraft from the Transport and Special aircraft divisions.
This event, named "Swedish Air Force Conduct Joint Air Operations with NATO Allies," aims to showcase the collective strength and cooperation between the Swedish Air Force and its NATO counterparts.
The primary objective of this joint air operation is to exhibit the Swedish Air Force's ability to operate in tandem with NATO Allies, fostering regional cooperation and readiness. The desired effect is to underscore the importance of collaborative defense efforts and highlight Sweden's commitment to regional security.
Media representatives are invited to Kallax Air Base to witness the event firsthand. The participating units, including four fighter divisions based at Kallax Air Base in Sweden and Bardufoss Air Base in Norway, will display their capabilities during a joint operation.
The Swedish Air Force's dispersed operations concept, encompassing Vidsel Air Base and civilian airports in northern Sweden, will be demonstrated during Nordic Response scenarios.
Media will have the opportunity to visit fighter divisions from Norrbotten Wing and Skaraborg Wing at Kallax Air Base. Interviews with Swedish commanders, pilots, and personnel from the fighter divisions will be facilitated. Additionally, there will be a photo opportunity with the JAS 39 Gripen fighter jet. Interviews will cover host nation support provided by Sweden to the United States Armed Forces.
