26 March: Visit the Italian aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi

The Italian Navy would like to invite media representatives on board the Italian aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi on 26 March.

Giuseppe Garibaldi is an Italian aircraft carrier, the first through deck aviation ship ever built for the Italian Navy, and the first Italian ship built to operate fixed-wing aircraft. She is normally equipped with short take-off and vertical landing aircraft (STOVL) aircraft and helicopters.

The programme for media would involve a transfer flight via helicopter from land to the ship. Once onboard, the journalists will attend a short briefing and then have an interview opportunity with the ship captain, the Commander Amphibious Task Force, Italian Navy Rear Admiral Valentino Rinaldi, and Commander Landing Force, Brigadier General USMC Anthony M. Henderson, Commander 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade USMC.

Due to limited capacity on the transport helicopter, there will only be a limited number of media that can attend the event.

We will provide details about the pickup point later.

Giuseppe Garibaldi still have anti-COVID measures and procedures in place. This requires everyone to wear a FFP2 face mask. Participants must bring their own face masks.
