29 March: Commanders of the Nordic Armies meet

The commanders of the Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian armies will host a media event at Bardufoss on 29 March.

The event will be arranged in the vicinity of Bardufoss on 29 March, from 10:30 to 12:30 local time.  

In order to develop Nordic combat power, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian armies are training together in very demanding and difficult conditions in Northern Norway. Exercise Cold Response 22 highlights the geopolitical value of the Nordic region, strengthens our military cooperation, and sends a strong signal outwards.

Media representatives are welcome to meet and interview the three Generals. Soldiers from the respective countries will also be available for interviews.

Practical information:

Meeting point: Circle K gas station at Bardufoss

When to meet: Media representatives are asked to arrive at Circle K Bardufoss at 10:00 AM local time. From there, you will be escorted to the exact location. Please bring your press card and id.

About Cold Response 2022

  • Cold Response 2022 is a Norwegian military exercise with invited allies and partner nations. The field exercise started on 14 March and concluded on 31 March 2022.
  • There will be some minor allied training and activity in April, after the field exercise.
  • The first allied troops arrived in Norway last autumn and earlier this winter to train and prepare for the exercise.
  • Over 30,000 soldiers from 27 countries, as well as a number of civilian agencies have taken part in the exercise.
